so yes i been reading threw other clutch post. but cant really grasp what would be good for my set up.
ive previously did a dyno run earlier in the year and heres the results. dont pay attention to torque, i was told that its not correct.
p1876014_1.jpg

when i dyno this, the only mod upgrades i had at the time was:
i.c hard piping
3in downpipe back exhaust
test pipe..

but now my set up has changed, this is what i have now:
i.c hard piping
3in downpipe back exhaust
560cc injectors
aeromotive fpr
apexi intake
ct26 57trim turbo
hks evc6
wideband
lexus afm

with this setup, im not sure what ill be getting for hp. and yes it will be tuned.
i know im going to need to get a new clutch kit as the stock one wont last long.
but im not sure what combo to get.
im not wanting any puck clutches, bc i dont want the chatter either.
thanks for the hepl

Personally I would buy a clutch for my end power goal so I don't keep wasting cash.

Also with the dyno your car was more then likely dynoed in the wrong gear.

What are your goals?

act extreme will handle a lot. after that should prolly look into a twin disc.

I like my dm 2800lb na d 6 puck combo. Holds nicely so far. will be getting tuned in couple months.

When you dynoed did your current clutch slip? Did it smell burnt? What's prompting you to buy a new clutch kit? Just wanna burn some dough?

Why not just keep the clutch set you're currently running until it shows signs of not hold the power? You could use the money for your other mods now.

[my goals are what i listed on first post. im looking for around 350. i believe thats what ill get around with the above mentioned. i did see the the stage 2 action clutch that dm offers, but is that going to be enough? and will that work with stock flywheel? or will i need a lightened one like fidanza or the one that dm even offers?

no it did not slip with my old set up.but now with my current, i dont know if stock will hold with more power im putting in. im wanting a new clutch because i just got my motor rebuilt and since its all out why not put a new one in.

That makes sense. I thought you were going to go through the trouble of dropping the trans. Since it's accessible why not?

I held 373 ft lbs of trq with the stock clutch for a good amount of time and abuse.

Only reason Im getting rid of it is because my goals are much higher and the trans is out the car atm

Well I just bought the ACT xtreme, and I love it. Although you said you do not want a puck clutch. It does have some chatter, but if you drive it right you don't have much on the 6 puck.

If I were you looking at your power goals, I would suggest you go with an ACT HD. It will handle all of those 350 horses with ease, and still have some room left. It is also a full face clutch disc. It may take a day or two to get used to the engagement of the new clutch, but it will be worth it. Also I know the engagement wont be any where near as harsh at the ACT xtreme like I am using (I have a bum left ankle, and I can drive on this clutch all day. Took a little while to get used to the firmness tho, but don't be afraid of that.) http://store.driftmotion.com/static/i-ts2-hdss.php

I have the dm 2800lb and 6 puck and love it. I dd it too.

It's not crazy heavy on the foot and smooth when shifting. Just needs a little revs from starting from a stop and it's still smooth.

I have this same setup, have been using it daily since around this time in 2010. I have not been especially nice to it, and it is only now starting to show signs of a worn disc. For what its worth, I'm putting out around 350whp (with the boost turned up a bit), I would suspect torque is probably around 320 or so.

That said, a twin disc is nice if you can afford it, and it saves you a bit in the long run for when the horsepower bug bites you. :p

Get a OEM disk and upgraded pressure plate if you plan on staying where you are with some room for improvement. If you plan on upping the boost and what not, get a six puck.
