After putting a JDM engine in my Supra almost two years ago and ignoring the advise of replacing the headgasket anytime you put a JDM in, I finally got around to doing the work this last week.

It took over one year for me to get to the point where I realized that I had a BHG, since I had a number of other issues that took a while (due to lack of time) before I was able to drive it. So last January is when I started driving it the 50 miles oneway to work. Then weird things started happening. And finally coolant came out of the overflow bottle and I knew it was a BHG. That was last March. And again, time just wasn't available. :nono:

So when I found out I was going to have to delay at least one week before I could start my new job, I decided replacing the headgasket was just what I needed to do! I started a week ago last Friday and got it running today. I still need to flush the coolant, change the oil and hook up the trans lines. All of which I'll do tomorrow. But the engine purrs like a kitten!

I also decided to add a little collor to it all! :icon_razz

LOL! it's about time! good work man. Try getting silicone coolant hoses it'll look even better then just the sleeve of mesh!

I'm on a bit of a budget since I'm unemployed at the moment. I should be starting a new job in the next couple of weeks though, and then I'll start working on it more since I plan on using it as a daily driver. :icon_bigg

personally i dont like blue on my car but i like what you did... what colors are you going with on your car?

I just picked up blue silicone vacuum lines and then the blue sparkplug wires. The blue mesh was some wire mesh stuff I found and thought I would try it on the hoses...only was able to do the top radiator hose and a by-pass hose I had to put in from the heatercore outlet to under the right side. (Leftside of the JDM metal tube was sealed off.) And because the wiring harness was in really bad shape, I found some blue electrical tape and taped it up.

And since I'm colorblind, all I know is that they were blue (I checked with the wife to make sure they weren't Purple...:evil2:
