Yup. another year and another thread. this one wont be as controversial or as crazy as past ones, but a good walkthrough none the less.

So arrived Thursday night with the "Creative" crew from work along with a few other supras to join the caravan. Serv with his Super widebody Black MKIV got about 40 miles with us before he had to turn around and go back home to get his wedding ring other wise his wife would cut off his balls and then cut up his supra! Andrew finally got his MKIV DONE(after 4 years)!!! it used to be black NA auto. Now its the Gold VVTi Twin Turbo 6-speed with LOTS of custom one off goodies. A car i would recomend u should see in person! Easily in my top 5 fav MKIV's! Sadly read on and u will hear what happened on the drive home. :(

Show N Shine:

Well as i stated in another thread, it was cream of the crop this year. seriously an unbelievable turnout of immaculate cars of all generations displayed for our viewing pleasures. I got stuck slinging stuff out of my booth part time and the rest BSing with old friends i get to see only so often. Usually i would have a plethora of pics in this section, but sad to say i snapped only a few of my own and a select few that wanted their pics taken after seeing my shots. Again wish i had more to show from the show, but ull have to take ur search to some of the other threads that have TONS of S&S pics. :p

oh and btw, its hard to tell but i debuted my first set of Carbon Fiber Bomex skirts. the CF matches my paint so well u cant tell in this light. :)

This was the BEST match up of the night IMO. Check out those times!!!!:

NorCal vs SoCal.... Eric vs Me..... well, using my rev limiter and not holding the brakes sent me across the line by accidnet red lighting and sitting thier questioning what had happened for a good coupel seconds befopre finalyl getting onthe gas. time at the end of the track proves it all. i ran a second time but bogged and stalled and just cruised my way to the end with my tail between my legs and my ego bruised that after 6 years i STILL CANT DRAG RACE FROM A DIG!! :gapteeth: btw I was only racing on pump w/ 475RWHP, cause all i wanted was to finally break out of the 14 second range! i guess i get another year of shit talk i deserve.

My boy Billy brought out his HKS'd out IS300 (which was featured last month in Super Street Magazine) and ran mid 13's throughout the night. not bad for first time racing his setup! Billy also won "Best Non-Supra" at this years show and shine!

True Class Act:

This deserves its own section. During the drags, Randy aka "Becauseican" had torn a hole in his Koyo radiator. He hit up everyone in the parking lot who may have an extra radiator available or may know where to get one ASAP since he had a long drive back to Canada! I tried to assist by calling some people at the track and hotel but came up dry. It started to rain and everyone left, leaving Randy out waiting for a tow truck to take it back to the hotel. This morning i got to the garage to get the supra to meet up with some friends and caravan home. I see Keith, Randy, Brent and Mr. GrimJack hanging out at the top of the lot. i go to ask Randy what his status was on getting his hands on a radiator. Ends up he got a hold of Jose from Kaizen Motorsports in LA, who unfortunatly was not able to attend Vegas this year due to an emergency at the shop. Jose had a Koyo near by and threw it in the car, made the 4.5 hour drive out to Vegas today just to get Randy back on the road! Jose then got back in the car and made the trek back home same day! There really isn't an appropriate smiley available to honor Jose's actions. i think a rock on will have to do.

And this isn't the first time Jose has bailed people out. I owe Vegas 04 and 05 to him! In '04 at 2am he drove to my house to give me a Koyo (which remains in my car to this day) same day as show and shine since mine literally crapped out as i pulled out my driveway for Vegas. And of course '05 when he assisted me with swapping out my differential in the Luxor parking lot after i grenaded it on the drag strip.

Bravo Jose, Bravo.

The drive home:
ok so here is the bad news. now some of u know SoCal is Smog Nazi capital of the USA. Well recently since the state is hurting so bad, state referee sattions have been shut down and us suprea people feel we can rest easy knowing this. sadly, now we cant. So Andrew (Gold Supra), Tim (MSB), Serv (BigBootyHo) and I were cruising home tonite and after the long 4.5 hours we were close to home when all of a sudden i see CHP get on the freeway beside me. i slow down and he paces me. after a few seconds passes and goes up for Serv, then passes him and immidiatly jumps on Andrew!! i call andrew to find out what happened and ends up the cop looked under his hood, checke dthe numbers on the block to the numbers on the chassis and figured out the motor didnt belong!!! so he told Andy that the motor is illegal and needs to be removed and the original motor be put back in! Which is sooooooo sad because Andrew has been putting this car together for almost 4 years now and after he finally got it running this week for this first show, he gets this. :( and the old motor he had in it was thrown out over 4 years ago. I hope he fugures something out cause i LOVE this car and Andrew is such a cool guy to boot.

Always look forward to your "Burrito Wrap UP". Great pics Nick!!!

Total BS those cops pulled. There has got to be some easy out as his original engine exploded and a shot a rod though the block...something like that is what I would come up with.

I can't even comprehend some state official being able to tell me what I can and can't do to my car...........:3d_frown:

The South may be backwards in a lot of ways, but I get to modify my car in any way that I can afford. Great pictures and story telling. I'm not going to mention the times that you ran at the track though..........that's just too easy.....:evil2:

Concerning Andrew... what if a rod created custom breather holes in the side of the block, what the hell does Nazifornia expect us to do? drive an engine with a rod poking out through the block so that the numbers match? WTF?

Great picks, thanks for sharing Nick.

Grind the numbers off the block and stamp in the new ones, or make a mold you can fill in with clay that can apply the clay to the block and make it look like it's got the numbers, then paint it with the block after it hardens. Oldest trick in the book for stock eliminator racers in the 70s who had to use a numbers matching block. They were of course blowing up motors left and right looking for an edge over the competion. They since ammended the rules to allow certain factory and aftermarket blocks since those motors no longer exist.
