Actually, I did, but I miscalculated the angles & lenghts needed to make my brackets. Here's the revised brackets. The bottom of the IC will be protected by my lip.SD2JZA70 said:You didnt seriously mount it like that did you?:nono: No, this has to be a joke:biglaugh:
jdub said:Much better! Is the bottom of the IC higher than the cross member? Kinda hard to see in the pics.
Where you going to mount the oil cooler?
Supracentral said:Years ago I had an IC that exteneded down to about 1/2" higher than the bottom of the front lip.
It lasted a long time, however eventually I wasn't paying attention one day and pulled into a parking spot that had rebar (steel rods) sticking out of the parking block. Once chopped a nice hole in my IC.
Get the thing up higher if you can.
jdub said:That is a touch low...can you tilt the bottom of the IC aft and get a little more clearance? I'm just thinking about scrapes going up an incline
Your car has a manual tranny, right? You could mount the oil cooler under the driverside well behind the fog light hole. I did that for my tranny cooler (Long TruCool 7.5 x 11 x 1.5) and used a Spal fan for air flow. I used low profile Opilux fog lights to allow air in through the fog light hole. Here's a pic...it's the cooler with the fan on it:
Good Idea, but I think his IC to TB pipe will go right through it!jdub said:Your car has a manual tranny, right? You could mount the oil cooler under the driverside well behind the fog light hole.
