Finally decided to make my own aluminum shroud. My other stock one got ate up,so I decided to improve on Mr.Toyots'a design. Hope this does not go up in flames like my LAST idea...

So is this version 1.1? I think version 1.2 should have holes cut out for the fans to access the radiator. :icon_razz
How much shipped to ontario, canada K2L 3T6 ? I like the work, it should help out the directing of the cooling signifficantly. Great job man!

i just got it bent up today. i'll use a Permacool 14" fan.,it pulls 2,950 cfm per manufacturer, has 6 blades and maxes out in rpm @1,800. They a/c fans will be separate from the larger fan, just like stock.I stil have alot of figuring out what to do next,so i'll keep ya posted!

Looks good. What is the depth of the shroud, 3-4"s ??

OK..so you know that the fan blades get the best CFM draw when 1/2 of the blade is into the shroud, and the other 1/2 is sticking out the back, right.??

Are you sure it is not more like a fan shroud works best when the tolerance between the fan blade tip and the shroud is as close as possible...? Also you want to have some flat surface v/s just a cut open hole.... So you need a flat hoop of metal welded/attached to the hole cutouts extending back to shroud the ends of the fan blades... (Like the stock one does basicly..)

Nice idea, but I've used that same permacool fan with mixed results on a Q45. I was not impressed with the cooling ability in traffic when the AC was on, and the car was not moving. I did not have much of a shroud however, so much of the air was just swirling around the blades v/s being drawn through the radiator I'm sure.

Good luck, and nice fitment. It's going to look great when your done.
