Jaws Gear is under the Vendors Section...that's how I initially contacted them. The Website is http://jawsgear.net/store/catalog/.

The phone # is on the 1st page...I talked to Jeff Wilson...he has experience with the Mk III. I had to measure the distance between the tip of the tranny output shaft to the differential flange...I'm using an '88 rear end on an '89 car. If you want to save a little cash, I'm sure they make steel shafts too...I donno, you'll have to ask Jeff.

You can get single piece driveshafts from a number of places...I've read that some are too short or don't fit quite right. This one fit perfect, but I also provided the measurements...it is a very high quality driveshaft. I just wanted to post how much it helped the car by replacing the stock shaft...the difference is amazing.

You can get AN bolts in 1/8" increments from Pegasus, which is what I did. Get the AN960 washers and MS21042 jet nuts, too, and then you'll never worry about those bolts again. I think I used one washer under the head and two under the nuts, but my memory could be faulty.

It's just a guess that you want 3/8" bolts, so I could be wrong on the diameter. My stash is at home...

Thanks for the great feedback. Glad everything worked out for you. Any problems or questions let me know. Just for everyone's info, we have steel as well as Aluminum. We like to verify the measurment every time to insure proper length(makes sure you don't get one too long or short). Anyway, Thanks again for the order.

Any source for 10x1.25mm or 1.0mm thread bolts? The stock ones are 10x1.0mm....30mm long with a small flange head would be pefect.

Metric fasteners of AN quality are hard to find in this country, though I've not done an extensive search. The Canadians may have some, but I've never looked, and buying them from Europe or Japan would be too expensive, I should think. The AN bolts I described above are perfect, so I didn't look any further. This is one application I wouldn't risk with bolts of unknown pedigree.

The stock DS is two-piece to cut down on noise/vibration/harshness.

Most aluminum driveshafts you buy are just resold from The Driveshaft Shop -- I bought mine through HorsepowerFreaks, and it came with a "Driveshaft Shop" sticker on it.

The way you can tell a DS is from Driveshaft Shop is that it's too short. Doh!

Thumbs up to Jawsgear -- I wish I had ordered mine through you guys.

Information Only: Just want to clarify that we make these driveshafts and DO NOT buy them from anyone. We also supply Horsepowerfreaks with the same product.

That is a nice piece and a great review. I have clunking noise too, when moving the car into gear, I may have to stop by and see Jeff on my next trip if I can't fix my problem.

Nice driveshaft ..

Hope this isn't off topic, but I have a rattle from somewhere under my car too. It's appeared since my rebuild.

I was assuming it was the exhaust, since when I put my foot on the exhaust tips (stock exhaust) it seems to stop vibrating. Could this also be something to do with the driveshaft, since I've noticed the vibration is stronger in different gears (louder vibration when in Reverse than in Neutral/Park).

I've also noticed a "clunk" feeling/noise from somewhere under the center of the car. I mostly notice the clunk when i'm braking, but it seems like it clunks when the auto tranny changes down a gear.

Could a new driveshaft help?

If your driveshaft is bad it could definately help. You need to check the carrier bearing and the ujoints to be sure before ordering one. No need to waste money without a proper diagnostic.

jawsgear - If I diagnose that my driveshaft is bad, are you willing to ship internationally? I don't know if I'll find a decent aluminium driveshaft manufacturer in my city...
