hmm, that would be an awesome thing. Ide rather see a 1jz in there, then it would really be like a mini MKIV.

Anything will fit, given enough money.

That said, putting a Supra engine of any type in a car designed for wrong wheel drive is going to be a LOT of money.

Making a chassis designed for FWD into something that will accept RWD is not a trivial task. You need to add a transmission tunnel, driveshaft tunnel, build a place for the rear diff, and make sure you have enough reinforcing that you won't buckle the frame like a cheap tent.

Making a RWD inline 6 engine bolt up to a FWD transmission... yikes. Lots of custom parts. LOTS. And not just 'go find them' parts, either, but design and cast or C&C one off parts.

simply put, a 2JZ will NOT fit into the engine bay transversely, it's just too long.

Your only option is to make the car RWD if you really wanted to go that route.

Just a hunch, but I'm guessing you didn't get a AWD Celica. That would have made it slightly easier.

before my supra i owned a 1993 celica gts, and i did alot of research. to fit any kind of rear wheel drive engine in the car, it would cost just short of 10,000. in my opinion way more than it was worth. so i just bought a real nice supra for much less than that. besides the difficulties of getting it to fit and work in the first place, theres the problems of finding parts later. which wont happen. if your up to the challenge, props, and i would love to see a 2jz celica.

Why don't you just do this? :D Celica GT4 Group A with a TT Supercharged 1UZ.

I would suggest dropping in a 3vz-fe. It has a very beefy bottom end, throw in some forged pistons and port the heads a bit, its good for 400+whp reliably and should fit ;)

That twincharged V8 is plain toyota torque at its finest. But since he has a 94 i'm assuming its just fwd. Only the ST165 all-trac was brought to the US and produced in the late 80's. I would suggest to keep it fwd. Do a 3S-GTE swap or a 3S with a 5S bottomend making it a 2.2L turbo. Keep it fwd and make it a sleeper.

I'm with him. Join 6gc.net. That's a forum specifically for the 6th gen celica.

If you don't want to go 3VZ, you can do the good ole 3SGTE swap, or if you you're on a slight budget and have the GT trim, boost the 5SFE. On stock block, you can run 7PSIs (+/-). The ST guys will either boost their 7A, or swap in a 4AGE black/silvertop, or just do the 3S swap.

To do a 2JZ swap in the 6gc, I hope you have bottomless pockets. You're better off getting the older RWD layout Celicas and dropping a 7m, 1j, or 2j in those.

To do the full 4wheel drive swap requires a fair bit of work. rear diff, rear axles, driveshaft, and to make room for all that, you'll have to drop the fuel tank and install a fuel cell in the trunk. :-\ a lot of work, but it's been done.

The Celica may be a somewhat slow car, but boosted with the right suspension will make it a quick (not balls fast), nimble car. The 6GC has a lot of potential in different ways, you just have to find which one fits you best.

don't forget the 5th gen ST185 that was produced between '90 and '93 with the 2nd Gen 3SGTE. The 5SGTE is also a good idea as well, but through other's experience that I've seen, it requires a bit to keep that one running.

celica gt-four *drool*

good friend owns a gt-four and an all-trac and by all means they are cool.. but slow and kind of ridiculous for what they are lol. Though I still believe the 3sgte (2nd and 3rd, namely 3rd gen) motors are the best 4 cylinder motors in my book.

On the topic, I would rather not say much other than your best option is to just boost something FWD IMO.
