Nice, very clean car.
I was wondering, how do you state the fuel economy of a vehicle down under? Over here it's commonly refered to as "gass mileage" but to you that would not work.
1) Your car runs on petrol, Ian runs on gas.
2) Mileage is in terms of miles, a unit not befriended by kangaroos and the like.

So, what do you say? "Oh, I get pretty good pretrol kilometerage"? or do you simple not go there, and keep it simple like "fuel economy"?
Just wondering scratching my head over here.

We had the old english units up until the 60's 70's (Ian can fill us in on the exact date :) most people still say mileage and refer to km

yanks calling petrol gas is a bit silly isnt it? last i looked it was a liquid :p

I come from a land down under
Allan: :thefinger

I still convert it back to MPG for it to mean something to me!

xx litres per 100 km's is clunky.

"Gas" refers to Gasoline and is just a terminology thing ;)

Gasoline, as it is known in North America, or petrol, in many Commonwealth countries (sometimes also called motor spirit) is a petroleum-derived liquid mixture consisting primarily of hydrocarbons, used as fuel in internal combustion engines. The term gasoline is the common usage within the oil industry, even within companies that are not American. The term mogas, short for motor gasoline, for use in cars is used to distinguish it from avgas, aviation gasoline used in light aircraft. The United States uses 360 million US liquid gallons (1.36 billion litres) of gasoline each day. The word "gasoline" is often shortened in colloquial usage to "gas". This should be distinguished in usage from genuinely gaseous fuels and other commodities such as propane.

Update:

After more cleaning I noticed I obviously scrached the deck cleaning the gasket off and never wanting todo this again and bores that are scuffed from lots of idling in japan meens engine out time...

Ahh well you get that....

Sooo where will this stop...

Items thus added to shoping list:

Metal head gasket
Pistons of some description
Rods? preped stockers
7M crank if its got a 6m crank in it (likely)

Happy Happy Joy Joy! this is going to take a few months!

Tim / Ed if your reading this I need my engine stand back!
