As you may kno by now, i work at Spee-dee Oil Change and Tune Up. So, I pulled in a 5 sp. camry the other day that had a freakin awesome alarm system in it. It had the keyless entry remote and I didnt read the clipboard that says what needs to be done to the car and pushed the clutch in and tryed to start the car. It didnt start. Then i tried to push the clutch in further. Still didnt start. Then I look on the panel next to the steering wheel. There was a little key pad there. Then I looked on the clipboard and it told me to enter this 4 digit code and then it would start. And it did. And I want it. I asked him what is was and he said it was a Life Track alarm installed by Toyota. Anyone know how much it is? And if all the Toyota dealerships carry them?

Ok. It is Toyotas lojack system. Some guy came in with another one today on his Sienna. Apparently Clifford sells them too. But I have yet to find it on Cliffords website. But I like the idea of a lojack system on my Supra. Especially when I'm going to put so much work into it.

Yeah man, especially with so many supras getting stolen lately. But I live in Cary, NC the crime rates are VERY VERY low here, according to some statistics it is the 3rd or 4th safest city in the country. It was one of the factors Martha Stewart considered b4 developing a housing development out here. So for the time being I think just a regular alarm system will suffice.

ya might want to take a look at asianwolf.com (sells on ebay too)

no keypad tho
they even offer a system that emails steady pics of who is in the car if they break in anyways.

I got a two-way (too many feat. to list) that uses microwave sensors, window rollup, remote start to install in my supe. ~$300.00

Ok, this is where i put it on my daily driver. Cost me $75 to install. It has valet mode, which the # stays green and when its activated, the * flashes red. Its a neat little thing. And the stripes on the left is not my interior, thats my shorts. Lol.

if anyone is opposed to bmws then ignore this, but the 86 and up 3series came stock with a keypad and pin number you could program. if you activated it then it would break the starter circuit til you punched in the right pin. really cool. similar to that

I was thinking about putting a push button start behind the cig lighter. So youd have to put the key in, enter the code, and then push the cig lighter in. My goal in the end would be to completely eliminate the key. But I dont think it will happen.

how hard is it to install one of these?
I just hate messing with wires on a 20 year old car.
unless i really have to(I.E. engine swap)

I'm sure its just a relay. cut the starter wire, hook up each end, hook up +12, ground, and you're good.

what about fiberglass a small enclosure to go in your change cup in the console, to house a keypad and push button starter. then pop the lid, enter the code, push start 'er and pull those leather driving gloves on.
