I think my stock alarm is acting up causing me problems with starting. Typical turn the ign. to start & nothing happens. Dash warn. lights dim with each attempt & I hear the relay in the pasenger side kick panel click. A cpl years ago I diagnosed a bad ign, signal wire so I rewired a seperate switch & have been problem free till a cpl days ago. Now same thing. You know the routine after the alarm is set & you tried to start the car w/o resiting the alarm the Kill switch prevents it. Well I disabled the alarm by unpluging the sens on the hood latch & jumpering it like the 12v FP mod. Well that did disable the alarm, however after driving for about 45 min I went into my bank to confirm I am broke :3d_frown: Came back out 5 min later & Went to start her up & nothing, Same as above. I jumpered the signal wire to the battery & nothing. So after hanging out in the parking lot for about an hour I try her again & she fired up. So now I'm thinking bad selinoid in the starter or both because it seams like after she cooled down it was fine. What do you folks think? Try another plan on completly disarming the alarm or Replace the starter? Can a shop test the starter while its on the car? I hope so because its a real pain to change & pricey to do if not needed.

TIA

sounds like a bad starter. its really not as hard as you think to swap it out and a new one is around $90 (get the 91+ as it has threaded holes!) im pretty sure autozone does testing but you need to bring the starter to them
