OK OK OK OK :biglaugh: I am going to do this right... you know. I have spent lots of money thus far... guess I should protect my investment right? :naughty: I know this is off topic in my own thread.. but can anyone maybe point me to the right place for wire harness concealment? I hate seeing all these wires.

I do understand the low-budget thang. My 87T had a BHG and I needed to fix it REALLY cheap. I did remove the head with everything still attached and replaced the HG (Ajusa one actually) to buy me a few more months 'til I was able to do it right/better. Was going thru a divorce, etc.

Anyways, as long as you know that you'll be doing all the work again and need your car to run right away, I understand. Get it running and start planning for fixing it right, soon.

no.

as every one else says do it RIGHT the FIRST time........

it will save you money in the long run.....

But too late already:icon_bigg Though IJ once stated, that someone made some test, and the stock bolts weren't so bad afterall, just too underestimated...? And it's N/A here anyways, and no racing car, so it doesn't get much raping.
Opsticlepopsticle, what I found :)

Stock bolts are not TTY. That is why you can reuse them per the TSRM.

*If* they were TTY you would preload with a low torque, then turn a certain number of degrees. And they would be marked with a diamond in the TSRM to show they cannot be reused.
And that seems to be right http://www.cygnusx1.net/Supra/Library/TSRM/MK3/manual.aspx?Section=EM&P=32

But o well, let's see how they run....

Well I am gonna pull the rest of the head today, and then bag all the valve shims, and take the head to the shop with all the valve stuff that came in the head kit, and get it done.. I dont really plan on going crazy with the build right now, I do want to install like a 35 shot of NOS just to give the car a little edge.

Well, the head gasket was blown just across water jacket and oil jacket.. not bad at all, but just enough to see some milky color oil. I pulled out my machinist square and checked for straightness on the block, its pristine.. It was supposedly a "low" mileage JDM motor.. and well so far it looks to really only have maybe 30-50k on it, I mic'd the cylinder walls, the bores are perfect, the cam journals are beautiful, no scouring whatsoever. I was looking at my old head from a turbo motor I was rebuilding until I discovered rod knock and a spun bearing. I had the head decked with a ground mirror finish, and leak down tested. there is a little bit of oxidation on the cams, but I am going to just swap all my stuff from the NA head, to my old turbo head. I know some of you advised against this, but on my inspection of it today, It all looks really good. So I think I will go ahead and just drop my HKS 1.2mm HG and ARP studs onto this build instead of the Ajusa.. I will keep it for later.
