Today I became a part of the United States Air Force!

It was a long day...MEPS was packed and the doctors took FOREVER to screen people. It feels good to be an Airman!

I scored high for mechanical (89) and electronics (88), it's funny because I don't really contribute much in either category on this forum.

Don't worry about that so much; the Air Force won't! They care that your aptitude is high enough for whatever slot they have picked out for you! All of my scores were in the 90 range except for mechanical, which was in the low 60's, and they still wanted to put me in "open mechanical". I didn't join until they gave me the job I asked for. It was a small fight, but worth it. Best of luck to you!

Airmen don't get stationed there unless it's for certain schools or you are attached to a weird field unit.
What is so bad about Pensacola, other than Hurricane Evacuation?

I was at Hurlburt Field, in Fort Walton Beach [about 45min east of Pensacola] for many years. I grew tired of it, but the place doesn't suck.

I know boot camp is in Texas and the rest I won't find out till Monday, when I get my picture taken by my recruiter and when we go over the jobs.
