Yes. Many people have done it. Need to take the cluster apart and use a hole saw to drill out a spot for the gauge but leave enough to mount it and be careful of the green part.

Is there walk a through for this or a thread anywhere

I have a bad ass old vdo boost gauge that I'd love to throw where the sticker is. It looks OEM and time specific. Got it for free with my wideband for $100 (uego arm). Am considering getting otherr vdo gauges eventually.

I need to sand the outer ring of the gauge and repaint it. I threw a 9 volt on it and at least it lit up.

Do you guys know what wires are the hot wires for the dash lights. So I can wire these up. And also are the stock gauges electric or mechanical?

Follow the green trails, they'll lead you to the answer that you request. Most even say 'earth' and 'b+' etc etc

I enjoy the new gauges being in the dash to hold the 'stock' look without the stupid gauge pods. I was going home and a supra with the triple gauge pod on the pillar plus gauges hanging FROM the gauge cluster, looked so ridiculous:nono:

A little off the topic but as soon as I get done with assembly of my motor I was going to jump on the gauge mounting and such. I had a crazy idea to put all my new gauges except boost where the glove box was( took it out to get to ecu)...was gonna just put an aluminum faceplate with holes cut out for the gauges there. Anybody seen anything like this on an mkiii?
