Why? It's not a poor choice, its a great motor... why does everyone feel like people going 1JZ's are betraying them...
It's not "betraying" anyone. Its the mentality that comes up with these pathetic reasons to swap out. "Oh, I can't make my 100+k mile motor work right, I'm just going to give up and buy a less mileage motor which will probably break as well once it reaches the miles my 7M had."

Thats why I think its rediculous. You could rebuild a 7M, even if you went with bone stock parts; it'd run another couple hundred thousand miles if its just taken care of.

Well said. When someone else starts putting their money into my cars mods, I'll start giving a shit what they think about what I want to do with my car. As of right now, I'm not a shit giver.

NegativeGeforce spent nearly $1000 just converting his car to FFIM on his 7M.

thats because hes a moron...plain and simple as that. it shouldnt take more then 300ish to convert to ffim with a 2jz setup..... and a fully custom one is about 500-700 from ron....

so dont give me that bullshit.

It is possible Ideal that included in that $1000 is the price of intercoolerpiping and even the intercooler itself. I'm not sure. You're right tho, it doesn't cost too much, you could get one of Seth's intake plenums for cheaper and make your own pipes, I'd say that'd run closer to $550.

no its not...i live 10 minutes from dan(negativegeforce) hes just weird when it comes to things like this... he spent about 1k for the setup including the q45 tb...but that should still only add about 100-150....

and after all that money he STILL didnt fit right and he had to cut his hood just to allow the throttle bracket to work....

Is there a reason you guys don't use the 2J?
I wouldn't want to lose the 1/2 litre capacity by going 1J never mind the torque loss in our big fat pigs.

Good idea, I have already bought a brand new 1.5 JZ, so no miles, and no loss of torque. :biglaugh:

The biggest issue is that alot of kids don't realize that JDM translates into "junkyard".

It does, unless you buy the whole car. Too bad you can't import into the good ol' USA. Trust me, putting the keys in a factory stock RHD 1JZ 2.5 Twin-Turbo-R and then cruisin down to KFC for a bucket is a lot funner than a 7M rebuild or 1JZ swap. :biglaugh:

I just ate a bucket last night, and Mr. Lange even lives a couple blocks from Colonel Sanders School, I shit you not.

The very first KFC in the world was opened not too far from where we live.

MMMM Bucket, the only thing better than 1.5 JZ
