Very clean looking car. Can you get a closeup of the pinstriping?
Will get a close-up pic up this weekend. Would like to hear opinions on it!

Just curious gentlemen. But what have you fellas that have had these paint jobs paid? I'm about to start on my car through a local shop and they say with stripping everything and all new trim and mouldings, and re-strengthening the frame, i'm looking at about 8k-10k depending. Now I don't mind paying it given thats normal average for what i'm doing. Now mind you they are removing all panels they can, removing enging/interior and respraying the frame black, and the car body seperatly.
I paid half of what you were quoted, I pulled all the lights, molding, spoiler, and door panels off myself. I had the door jams painted, alot of rust repaired around the windshield. I had replaced the hatch, the spoiler holes didn't line up, so the old ones had to be filled and new ones drilled. Also had to pay to install a new starter (ugh!) and had the new lip painted and installed.

The seals are made to the right length, don't stretch em. Gotta work from the ends to the center.
They are NOT to be glued in place! Previous owner made the same mistake on my car, they fight into the channels and have adhesive strips in some small places.
It's all covered in the TSRM if you look... Also, I sprayed mine with silicone spray the first time I put the targa on so it slipped in right. It's a tight fit until the seals break in a bit (think of an insole of a shoe).
I did check SM, and I did line up the ends with the screw holes, started from the ends and worked my way to the center. There was alot of extra material at the front of the targa, and I trimmed it back to fit very snug to the seal on the car. I was stuck in traffic during a downpour the other day. Not a pretty sight. I had to go home to change clothes and change cars :3d_frown: So, since I'll be overhauling those seals, can I PM you with questions? I'm confused on some of the steps.

You could also get the pigtails for the coilpacks and fix it properly (or replace the CPS and harness like I did since my CPS and harness was screwed anyway)
Can't order a new wiring harness, no longer available. I guess I'll be learning to wire it myself because I would like to get the oil pressure gauge and the cruise control working again.

glad to see the lip worked out afterall.
from reading ur post, u confirmed with me the bodyshop isnt very compitent. I'd look around for another next time cause i think they were taking u for a ride on that lip deal too. Any body shop should have figured out immidiatly the lip was upside down rather than try and charge u $200 more to "fix it". Bunch of idiots!
edit: realized ur a woman too just now, and makes sence why they tried convincing u to cough up extra dough. rephrase my last comment, they're a "Bunch of Assholes". next time take a guy down there so they wont take advantage of u like that. :nono:
Actually, I liked the shop real well. Tim was very respectful of my knowledge of the car, and worked with me to get the look I wanted. It was my fault the lip was upside down because that looks more like stock than the other way. I actually prefer the stock look myself. Nevertheless, he offered to make it fit the way I wanted it to. He really didn't want to tear into it. I was on my own with this project because the only guy around here that knows more about Sups than me works second shift and couldn't be there every time something came up.
