ok, im at work so i will explain this quickly...

before my motor popped due to my fault...i was stock block with walbro 255, 550 injectors, stock fuel rail no jtube elim, stock cams, stock puter, never had any probs with car..

after motor rebuild, only thing thats diff, motor is .20 over, custom cut cams made from stock, .321lift .215 duration with tru time cam gears, jtube elim with aeromotive fpr....now, i can start it up, and after bout 30 seconds, it goes OFF THE SCALE LEAN. no matter what i do, rev it, nothing, the fpr guage is showing 55-60 psi (not sure if thats the pressure to the injectors) and one more thing, what i believe is the fp regulator (on the pass fender) is getting VERY hot. "did not do this before" hot to the point it is melting some wire loom i have passing by it.

what should i start checking? im at a loss.could the comp just not be able to adjust? .20 over is nothing, but maybe the cams? idk. ANY help would be greatfull. :)

what is the purpose of this? this must be the "fuel pump mod" ive been hearing about. due to putting the aeromotive fpr on is the fp not working correctly with the resistor on?

an update, i lowered the fp reading on the fpr to 42ish psi. re did some vac hoses, it will hover longer at around 14.8-15.3 sometimes touching 16.xx. reved on it a bit looked good...took it for a short 5 mile ride including freeway...off the scale lean uego showing ---- pulled back into my garage, fiddles with stuff...started it back up, afr's back to normal. just heading out for a drive now.

ok...went for a drive from turlock to stockton..bout 50miles. car was fine...afr's were fine...till i got to modesto, bout 20 miles. i let off the gas so some doche bag could cut me off, and when i pressed the gas again...no afr's...i continued to stockton, when i got off the freeway to my buddies shop...cel....wtf i said.

now its running like a steaming pile of dog sheist. i pull up, it dies...ceck the code..wtf again, mafs. kinda weird since it less than 6 months old. never the less...i drive home, with the afr's peged at 10.xx smelly rich...pull into my garage, pop the hood on my sc400, swap sensors, and...idk...its running...but...the idle is not smooth, (cams maybe?) cel is out, it "seems" to run ok....BUT...in order to get it to idle at all, the screw on the TB is WAY out, and i did not have to do this before rebuild.

i am STUMPED, ive checked and checked AND CHECKED all the lines, took the bov off, cleaned it, idk wtf to do guys...really pissin me off....... any ideas???????
could it be i need to hook up the aem f/ic???? i wouldnt think so buuuut...........

Does your bov have 2 vac lines? my friend had a similar problem turns out he had the vac lines on the bov hooked up in correctly causing a massive vac leak.

ok, update...

weirdly, it was my mafs that was out and not throwing the code right away. strange since it is only bout 6 months old.

got about 150 miles on it or so. other than the piss poor mpg, it seems to be doing ok. and...i think the cams are very loud...kinda....small hint of a clunking sound? and not my clutch. idk....but there is the update on the afr prob. :)
