So im getting the code 31. Im searching for a used good one in spec with the tsrm. If i just buy the shell with no little black box on top is that sufficent? Or does the little black box on top of the afm go bad as well?

your actuall AFM housing should be fine. Its the black box sensor that goes bad. I swapped my bad one out with a good sensor from a lexus v8 AFM. If your planning on upgrading later, i would buy a lexus v8 afm with the sensor and just swap it out for now.

If you swap the sensor from a lex afm, wont that make the car rich because its designed for 550cc injectors?

I have a 7MGTE sensor for $30 shipped. It has been tested per the TSRM, and is in good working condition.
