I can not for the life of me find a stock AFM. I can find the lexus upgrade on ebay. Would it be ok for me to pull and just use the sensor and not use the housing?

Are you saying not use a housing at all?!?! Like install the sensor on your intake pipe?

Yes, that is what I am saying. Use the sensor only from the "lexus" housing and install the sensor only into my stock housing

I know. Forgive me, I am new and trying to figure out how to use this forum. The above, "No that is not what I am saying..." was not written by me. I dont get it... How did someone write a quote that looks like it came from me??

If you're using the stock housing then you ARE using a housing and are not just putting the sensor in your intake...

I "fixed" your statement so other people would not get confused
(your post contradicted its self)

I was helping

And welcome to sm

:) Just messing with you. You can alter the quote however you want when you quote someone. He simply changed the wording of what you wrote because he knows what you meant, but you said it wrong, or perhaps you didnt understand what you were replying to.

Regardless, they are saying that YES you can use the electronics from the Lexus AFM and install just the electronics part into your stock Supra AFM without any issues.

I am not saying this is the case but that's what the others have stated. The two sensors supposedly have different part numbers, so I can't say for sure it will work without any problems, but it will definitely fit in the Supra AFM and plug directly into the Supras wiring.

...are not the same thing. Anyway, you can use either sensor in either housing (sensors work the same) but you can't use any sensor without a housing.

Wow this thread is polluting SM.

Lets try to fix this...

The electronics from the Supra AFM and the electronics from the V8 Lexus AFM are the same. You can use the Supra electronics in a Supra AFM housing or in a V8 Lexus housing (using the Lexus housing requires supporting fuel mods). You can use the V8 Lexus electronics in a Supra AFM housing or in a V8 Lexus housing (again Lex housing requires fuel mods). But you must use A housing...you CAN NOT eliminate the housing and try to jimmy jack up a way to install just the electronics in the accordion pipe or similar intake pipe.

It is hard to tell from your original post what you are looking for or what your problem is...Are you missing the entire AFM system from your car (housing and electronics)? is your car running bad and you think (or maybe have troubleshooted and think you know) that the electronics are bad? Why are you trying to source a "stock AFM"?

Naw. Buy the Lexus AFM. take the sensor off of it. Install the sensor on your stock housing. Sell the Lexus housing in the classifieds section for a decent portion of what you paid for it. This gets you what you need for relatively cheap and gets the lexus housing on to someone who wants/needs it for a bit less than buying the whole thing which they do not need.
