i would like to completely remove my AFM from my 1987 turbo supra.

Or remove it and throw it away?
To take it off you need a 10mm socket and a rachet and it should be pretty self explanitory.
To rid yourself of it follow step number one and when you are done discard into a garbage receptical. Just don't expect your car to run afterward */Sarcasm*
The afm meters the incoming air and without it your car will not run. Other methods or air metering have been developed for the MKIII in place of the AFM.
These Methods include:
1. Converting to a GM MAF with a MAF-T from www.fullthrottlespeed.com
2. Switching to a MAP(manifold absolute pressure*?*) ECU.
3. Installing a MAF-T PRO which can allow you to run Speed Density to meter air.
4. A popular method is also the HKS VPC (Vein Pressure Converter)
