Hey guys, did a search didnt find what im specifically looking for.

I have MKIV 550s/rail and a 1UZFE AFM. I know that i can run them, need both or it runs lean, etc.

my question is whether i absolutely need to upgrade the fuel pump, and run a fuel controller, or can i get away with just using an adjustable fuel pressure regulator.

Im just trying to run it reliable, cheap and simple. I'll use a walbro if i have to (i do have one), but i wanted to run it in my SC400. trying to keep the supra only mildly modified running stock turbo with a little more than stock boost.

Yeah I wasn't sure if the mkiv rail will work, figured I would try it, if it doesn't fit, I was just going to use the injectors.

I do have a walboro 255 pump, aeromotive reg, r154, 1jzgte that I was going to put in the supra, but I bought an sc400, so I wanted to run them in that car.

So I figured I would run the Lexus afm, 550s in the supra, leave the auto tranny in it, bring up the boost slightly (basically just shy of fuel cut, and call it a day.

Pretty sure 2jz injectors are side feed. So they definitely won't work in a 7m rail. Sounds like either way you can't use either the rail or injectors.

Well lol it appears you are correct. I just assumed they would fit since I have the mkiv injectors on my 3sgtes and my 1jzgte. What 550s do people usually use on the 7mgte?

Usually rc, pte, or certain model rx7 injectors. I want to say the 87-88 turbo II rx7's injectors were 550s. Don't quote me on that though. I'm actually going to be buying some 550s in the next couple weeks from a member on supraforums. He has a patented process of resizing injectors to whatever size you want. He does tons of testing on them and has had great results. He's already got a good number of sets done for other members. And his prices beat name brand companies.
