I'm installing an Apex'i AFC Neo. I have a few questions as this is only my 2nd car doing any real tuning on, and the AFC is much different than the SMT6 I've used before.
First, I've heard that I should set the Lo-Throttle setting at 68% and Hi-Throttle at 69% because the ECU is in closed loop anywhere 67% throttle and under? Is this correct? If not, what may be a better setting?
Secondly, is there any type of Fuel Zeroing Calibration with the AFC besides just simply adjusting fuel at your selected points? The SMT6 had a Fuel-Zero setting to dial-in +/- percentages on injector sizing compared to stock sizing.
Also, what would be a decent starting place as far as setting RPM points on the AFC? I would imagine that several important points to get close to would be where obvious fuel requirements change for the engine so that way that AFC can create a decent and accurate fuel graph.
The set-up I'm running is:
- Block: Stock internals w/ MHG
- Intake: Lex AFM, aftermarket intake
- Fuel: TRE 255lph Pump, RC 660's, Aeromotive AFPR
- Turbo: Stock CT-26 @ 16 psi, 24"x12"x3" FMIC
- Exhaust: BIC DDP, BIC test pipe, Blitz Nur-spec catback
As mentioned above I figured several points to set fuel adjustment RPM's would be things like intitial spool, peak boost, redline, etc. As for my set-up can anyone provide any recommendations on where to begin? If it even matters, seeing as the AFC will make a linear chart.
Even if anyone has any experiences, tips, techniques, tricks, or advice for tuning the AFC I'd be glad to hear it! Thanks in advance!
