what in the name??

Umm stick with the Maft-pro

AEM is a standalone. Not everyone needs a standalone. A not everyone that needs all the features of an AEM.

The AEM does have the ability to do speed density, but it is expensive and as Figgie said, not everyone needs a stand alone. It depends on your horse power goals. The AEM is also a complex unit...you need a good tuner and dyno time to get it set-up correctly. It's biggest advantage is you can control all engine parameters with it and no hack of the ECU signals with piggyback units.

The Maft Pro is a lot of bang for the buck...speed density, boost control, and fuel map all in one unit. It does not control timing like a stand alone can, but from what I've read, can monitior timing. You will need the same sensors as the AEM to convert to speed density and use the boost control feature.

Yeah. If you want everything the AEM has. It can't be had for the price.
Racelogic traction control, what a grand by itself?
Progressive nitrous control, at least $500
Precise boost control with switchable maps, etc. -$400
Anti lag. I don't even know,
plus speed density conversion, or maf or whatever.
Control any type of ISC.
control your Auto tranny.
dual stage rev limiters, -$600 right there for MSD plus tach adapters, etc...

So, if you want speed density, boost control, timing moniter.
MART-pro.
If you want STAND ALONE engine management, go with AEM.

So I take it you are saying the AEM is a very good bang for the buck :icon_wink
