Ok, well I'm starting to plan my re-build and would like some advice on machine work I should/need to get. As many of you know I've had a lot of issues in the past with different problems that I don't want to get into. I'm not sparing any cost on this and will just save up longer in order to get everything done! So that being said my power goals are for HIGH HP.
The Bottom end will include:
Crower Rods
Titan Billet Main Caps
I have 40over Wiseco's that have under 100miles on them, they were in a Severe Piston slap block. First Question should I replace them with 20over XXXX's ?
This is what I have for the block so far. Looking for suggestions on what I should set clearances/ring gaps to. Also add anything I missed !!
Machine Work for Block:
1. Magna Flux
2. Hot Tank
3. Deck W/ Timing cover in place
4. Bore W/ Torque Plate, Tensioner Bolt at 36ft/lb and piston to bore clearance of - .0035
5. Gap Rings To -
6. Align Bore Billet Mains
7. Cut Crank 10/10
8. Clearance set to Mains- Rods-
9. New Freeze Plugs
10. New Aux Bearings
11. Full Bearing Set Clevite or other ???
12. Cut Crank pulley bolt for ATI
The head I'm going to fully Build w/Ferrea everything and would like suggestions on which cams to go with. This is where I need most help I've never had a head built before and don't know any specifics I need to tell the machine shop.
Machine Work For Built Head:
1. Pressure Test
2. Resurface to lowest RA possible
3. Hot tank/Sonic Clean
4. PnP any instructions here ???
5. Align hone cam journals
6. Install Ferrea Componts what instructions do I need to tell them any specifics??
7. Shimless buckets a good idea ? If so, again any instructions I need to tell them? Where to get them ?
Any and All help suggestions is Greatly Appreciated !!
PS Does anybody have a torque plate I can "rent" when needed ??
