DigiTech GNX3 Guitar Multi Effects Pedal and Multitrack Recorder

The DigiTech GNX3 Guitar Workstation shows how the team at DigiTech has jumped way ahead of the pack. Why someone hasn't done this before is anybody's guess.

For the first time, guitarists now have a complete, full-featured floor processor, plus an 8-track recorder combined into one unit, giving them a whole new level in creative power at a very affordable price. Now, when a guitarist is practicing at home or is at a band rehearsal or jam session, those inspired solo moments won't be lost forever. And those magic riffs that come out of nowhere or are carefully worked out can be captured so you can get them down later.

Just start the built-in 8-track recorder and all those "Wow, that was cool!" licks will be instantly recorded. And you can operate the recorder hands free. But, the GNX3's power to unleash a guitarist's creative potential is fully realized in SONG WRITING!

By utilizing the built-in drum machine and bass amp modeler, a guitarist can first lay down rhythm tracks on the built-in 8-track recorder. Then selecting from the GNX3's unlimited library of amp models, DigiTech's exclusive and powerful CIT™ (Cabinet Imaging Technology) feature, and a complete set of on-board effects, the guitarist can then lay down the guitar tracks.

When that's finished, vocals can then be recorded on the remaining tracks using the balanced XLR mic input on the rear of the GNX3. Even keyboards and DJ scratching can be added through the rear-panel instrument input. There's no limit! Plus, recording time can be greatly increased utilizing the SmartMedia™ card slot on the rear panel.

The DigiTech GNX3 Guitar Workstation has a power supply included.

Im no "pro" either, but the extent of my effects at the moment, are limited to the reverb and overdrive on my amp... which dont cut it at all!

just out of curiosity, what type of equipment do you have in your "full set up" ?

I might get some of this wrong, I dont pay MUCH attention but here we go:

2 Ibaneze Guitars, 1 Fender (I THINK its a fender)

Bass guitar, forget the brand as well.

Our drum set, I dont remember the brand, one of the better sets, single bass drum with dual pedal, forget the rest, my bro is the drummer in the family

2 Mics, again forget the brand, they rock though

3 Marshall Stacks, 2 smaller cheapo amps, Marshall though

Sorry this list makes it seem like I dont know shit about what we have but Im just drawing brain farts right now, I dont stare at this stuff. I get on the mic, rock out, have fun and Im done. All of this was bought by my step dad, he has a cover band that plays gigs every weekend. Anyways, I can get back to you on the full spec set up in a little while. Along with everything we have like 10 floor pedals for the guitairs, and each is tuned for quick song change, (drop d, standard and I think another drop d) we also have a 32 track mixer, and an 8 track mixer

actually digital sucks balls. Personalyl since ive been playign for 7 years now, i find it really old and disgusting sounding when you buy opne of those multi pedals. everything is damn too digital sounding. if you aren't gonan jam a lot and just screw around with all the effects then go ahead. just get a single pod if you want kick ass sound. and ask yourself what you want? is it distortion? or delay maybe. i currentely run 2 Line 6's, a DL-4, and a DM-4. these pedals don't soudn digital for shit and i recommend them to player at any level. oh and the delay oen lets you loop chords so u can practise lead. hope this helps!
Oh and i run them both through my practise amp most of the time and the DL-4 makes any amp sound good.

yes, but all the reviews on the gnx3 say that the sound is wonderful with absolutely no interference. It also allows you to record what you play. I would much prefer that to recording via microphone.

well just to be sure, go out and play on one yourself! don't ever trust what others say until you find out what you think for yourself!

I'm not one for effects. I usually just use the standard amp distortion and if I do use an effect its usually a chorus, a little bit of delay, or a flange effect. All supplied by the amp that i have.

well if you're trying to cover some songs... they are required at times (not even close to half of those effects would I probably ever NEED, but its nice to have them and just distortion and delay will not work for me, especially since I cant switch back and fourth between them while I play)

I used to cover songs all the time, now all I do is play my own songs and try to make them better. I do have the ability to switch back and forth via footpedal. I see what your saying, it is nice to have all of them. I'm sure if i messed around with the effects a lot I'd make some pretty odd songs. I can get some crazy sounds out of my guitar using feedback, tapping, and bending with a delay effect on it. Lol. But I have a Boss mixer with 100 effects built-in so I can get my effect fix when I need it. Plus it lets me record. Which I believe is what you were looking for.
