Jeez, Toyota went to a lot of trouble to build in self-diagnosis, so the owner can then look up the code and find out what to fix. Seems almost straightforward?

except that everything its telling me that is wrong seems to be okay....

Anyway my original question is how to Know you have your tps adjusted right... i dont see this self diagnosis helping me much on that at the moment... and the only reason im asking this is because the code says its a TPS problem.

Redacted per Title 18 USC Section 798
While there are a few ways to cheat it's usually set using the procedure in the manual. When the results spelled out in that procedure are achieved it's set correctly. Not sure why you're unable to grasp that.

It'd help if you told us exactly what codes are present. The ones you wrote in the first post have nothing to do with the TPS.

51 = turn the AC off...

71 = ECU not getting the proper temp from the EGR temp sensor (only on Cali models) You either have it disconnected, you removed the EGR, or you have a true EGR issue.

um A/C i have made sure is off.

EGR is still on the car and it is a cali car.. i didnt ever have these codes be for i did the head gasket i have gone over the car time and time again and everything seems right.

Only one thing is off and its the VTV and Filter that comes off i believe its called a Dash pot diapham? I seemed to have lost in the rebuild...

neutral-start-switch. If an automatic is not in park or neutral, you will get a code 51. If the switch is faulty, you can get this as well. Other causes of code 51 are the A/C on, and the TPS IDL switch not adjusted properly.
