lexus afm, 550cc injectors, walbro pump, FPR, Bigger i/c with piping. FULL 3" exhaust, etc etc

S-afc should be good enough for tuning

etc etc

not cheap at all.

Also you'll need ARP's and a MHG. and Sutch...

MAFT pro with all the bits from suprasport.com $697

550 injectors between $300 - $600 depending on quality and where you get them from.

New IC + hard pipes $1000

other odds and sods $1000

Your engine has to be in A1 condition to be shooting for these numbers.

@ 500rwhp also you are going to want to start looking into a built motor. the stocker can handle 500 but its a question of how long it will last.

^^ i'm with him. But i'm not a fan of premade 'kits', you can usually (it has been my experience, anyway) find more quality parts individually for just a smidget more.

Recommended supporting mods needed to support Boss Series Turbo's.

Bold italic underlined items can be optional but are highly recommended.

High flow intake (Apex-i, Blitz, K&N, SS Intake Kit)
3" Mandrel bent cat back exhaust (RS-R, Blitz, Tanabe, etc.)
3" Test pipe (check state regulations) or cat (Random Tech, Vibrant, etc.)
3" Down Pipe and Elbow (RT, LIPP, Cooleeze, Tanabe)
Walbro 255 fuel pump or larger
Fuel pressure regulator (Aeromotive, SS General Install)
550cc or larger injectors (RC, PT, Venom)
LIPP or Lexus AFM upgrade with Apex-i Super AFC-2 or other similar engine management (MAFT-Pro / MAF Translator with GM Blow Through AFM, AEM-EMS, Greddy e-manage)
Wide Band o2 Sensor kit to monitor EXACT air & fuel mixture from exhaust After but closest to the turbo usually side by side with the stock o2 sensor (the stock o2 sensor system will need to remain installed and DO NOT TAP INTO THE STOCK SYSTEM the main computer still needs this, the wideband has its own controller) (NGK AFX, AEM UEGO, Innovate Motorsports)
Full intercooler hard pipe kit 2.5" or larger
Intercooler
Blow off valve (single or dual Bosch option will not be sufficient, should be on of the major brands)

This may help with what you may need

yeah i was guessing i am going to have to build the motor, but i figured since i have one with only 40k on it it would last a while. do you think i am going to have to upgrade the radiator? i just put flex-a-lites on it and it keeps really cool, it hasnt heated up yet, but i dont know if that would be the case with more hp.

most people who go electrics eventually go back to the stocker. do a search for the fans and see what others have experienced.

a koyo or fluidyine would be a good idea

Most people upgrade the turbo, only to realize it needed supporting mods. So get these first, and then shop for a turbo. And you definitely need a bigger radiator. Let's not forget you'll also need a very decent clutch, plus a big brake kit, and suspension work, if you want to stay on the road without killing self or others.

even though you have 40k miles on the 7m its going to blow due to the low torque specs. and even if you torque the head bolts more the stock head gasket wont last very long with even 12psi of boost. get the motor taken apart and have the block and head deck then install a metal headgasket with arp u/c studs ftw!
