I bought the Driftmotion Stage 4 clutch (Action 6 puck ceramic/metallic disk with an ACT EXTREME 3000lb pressure plate). This is my first time installing the clutch without the help of a mechanic (was about 5 years ago, so i dont remember how to do it).

For those of you who have this clutch, or know what im talking about....I had a few questions about the installation.

1) According the TSRM, it says to mount the clutch cover and disk in the trans and then put the trans on the motor. Then bolt up the clutch cover to the flywheel. I found this to be a pain in the ass because its real tough to figure out which hole the bolts go in.... especially when you have to do all this through the trans inspection hole.
Cant i just bolt the clutch to the flywheel, then put the trans on the motor?

2) I noticed that there are plastic rivets in some of the bolt holes on the clutch cover. When i went to bolt up the clutch cover, 3 of these plastic rivets were where the bolts should go. Basically i had 3 un-used bolts left over out of 6.
Am i supposed to removed these rivets or leave them?
Im assuming 3 bolts holding the clutch in is not enought

Thanks
-pete

You can not bolt the pressure plate to the flywheel then install the trans, believe me i've tried.

If there plastic rivets pop them out, you need all 6 bolts.

ok cool. thanks. i just needed to know before i torque them down.

one more thing. the tsrm doesnt say anything about installing the pilot bearing. according the the diagram, it looks like you are supposed to install it after you put the flywheel on. it didnt want to go in that way. and on my other motor, the pilot bearing was still on after i took the flywheel off. i ended up putting it on first, then bolting up the flywheel. is that right?
