I got my brand new clutch disc in and have a question. Is this disc supposed to run thin? I measured 0.028" from the top of the ceramic pad to the rivet with my slide caliper. TSRM shows an acceptable minimum rivet depth of 0.012". I know I'm more than double that, but it still seems to be really thin for a new clutch disc. Does this sound right to you guys. Anybody know what the rivet depth is on a stock Toyota disc for comparison? I'm wondering how long this clutch disc is going to last.

Yes, it's supposed to be thin like that. It will last a long time. On my last car I got well over 100,000 miles out of an ACT 6-puck disc. Every time I'd pull the trans (I broke alot of gears on that car), I'd measure the disc and debate replacing it, but even when it was 0.005" above the rivet, it still lasted another 20K miles.

Keep in mind, drag racing, two step launching and road coarse racing will make all parts last a fraction of the time.

Can't really compare ceramic to stock organic disc. Organic usually have a lot more material because they wear down faster. Ceramic clutches will eat your flywheel/pressure plate before they wear down completely. This is what I have seen from my experience anyways.

Do you get a little chatter at first gear?....I can't wait to go dual.

Yeah, sometimes. I'm usually smooth enough that it doesn't chatter. Sometimes it also screeches pulling out from a stop. Also normal, but annoying.
