acetone in gas better gas mileage

Toluene? Yes. To make this clear, my source for this is from my uncle, he's an engineer working for a oil/gas company (not sure which).

He told me to throw about a pint of toulene in a full take. Aparantly it will up the octane *up to* 5 points. I was warned not to pour in too much as it could have adverse effects.

would a dollar worth of any of these products save you at least a dollar worth of gas? I bet it ends up costing more with all these additive things

with Acetones ability to melt most plastics it comes into contact with this sounds destructive, let alone what it must do to buna rubber hoses.

I was wondering why this wasn't pointed out right off..........

Yep, a very valid point.

Also, toluene raises the octane, it will NOT increase gas milage (lower octane usually gives BETTER gas milage).

People use toluene to make cheap race gas, so see it as such and not a MPG improver.
