Hey guys. im planning on picking up a set of the mk4 TT wheels, just wanted to know if these would fit on a 87 supra without any modifications. also what are the advantages of the TT wheel upgrade on our cars? better handling? oversteer understeer, look, fitment..anything? i just dont like the look of the 17x7 rims i have on my car right now..also does anyone have some center caps? and last question how much does it usually cost to chrome rims? the ones i am getting i believe are the flat silver ones..and i like the way the chrome looks..anyone know how much it usually is to chrome and where i can get it done?

Link for center caps..i think? ^

Thank you!

John

The advantage is having more tire while still looking kinda stock.

Edit: MK4 TT wheels are 17x8 +50 17x9.5 +50, so you should get spacers:

do these clear on the inside without a spacer? these are 9.5 + 50 at the back right?
Front's usually rub the lower a-arm at full lock. Typically a 8mm or so spacer would help it not rub. Rears should clear fine. a 15-20mm spacer all around gives MK4 wheels a good stance.

I think you are moving in the right direction. The chrome are very expensive but the TTwheels are Aluminum so you can polish them if you want but then you need to paint the Plastic center caps something similar, Or find an old Lexus GS300 center caps or something that looks chrome and fits the hole.
I dont think the Small lugs you have will work. I had the acorn lugs with a washer pressed on and that looked like factory stuff.
The TT rims are kind of expensive wen you can get something with more Dish for the same price. I guess it is whatever your looking for stock or Modfied.

Now don't flame me for this if I'm wrong, but judging by the MkIV wheel's lugs, I'd be tempted to say they were intended to be lug centric. IIRC, the MkIII is hub centric. Thus, the lug nuts I have fit quite firmly in the wheel's holes and are shaped as such. I would verify what lugs you should have, or get OEM lugs to be safe.

Fitment should be fine if your fenders are straight and suspension is good. My rear rims comes pretty close to the springs, but doesn't quite touch, except at full droop... but no one drives at full droop :p

Well it's really your choice.....I have seen cheap wheel spacers go bad and damaged the hub or the rims. And I bought them for less than $100, it's a perfect fit and it centers accurately. As you can see in his website, he's been doing this for years and a racer himself back then. 10mm or more, I would recommend getting the extra long studs or even the ARP wheel studs.

I have MkIV TTs the chrome ones and I don't believe I hav any spacers anywhere, it's an 89 if that makes a diff, I don't think it does. Also I run a 275 in the rear and no rubbing, my suspension I eibach with tokiko blue. Also I got both 275/55/17 fallen azenis rt615 for 299 shippe to my door if you need any info...

Not to step on anyones toes here with the spacer thing, just saying what I have, but I bought the car with these on it

I was going to say not everybody's wheels rub. Existing wear and tear coupled with lowered suspensions matter quite a bit.

damn..i want factory chromed! i think theres a guy that does chroming or something but with nickel..and then polishes it so it pretty much looks like its chromed for like..35 bucks a wheel..might just do that...chroming is fxking expensive..like 125 a wheel -_-
