? about cam position sensor rebuild/reseal

Anyone else done this? I have read the write up, but was curious who else had done it, as well as their results.

I have. Piece of cake. I reused the gear though because owning a 20 ton press has it merits.

Or you can get it for cheap from the outfits mentioned in 3P's excellent write up.

While you have it out cut a gasket for the CPS so you never have to mess with that O ring again. Might as well replace the cover and gasket too...

I did it as well. I had to buy the new gear, because I DON'T own a 20 ton press. It was a stone cold bitch to get out, too, if I had to do it again I might just buy a press!

Other than that, it was simple.

I reused the gear without a press. Just drill the original dowel out, and i forget how i got the gear off. Hammer and a vice I think.

Tried to just punch the dowl but no luck. Press looks like the way to go. $180 at Harbor Freight

thanx ya'll. Got it done. The dowl did need to get drilled out. I didn't replace the gear. Came out petty easy. My cover also needed replace. I just used the Jetjock's link and got a complete kit from them. $25. Easy
