The 2JZ will make your power goals with stock reliability. A decent single turbo kit and boost controller, and you're done.

Not even a single kit, a BPU 2J can do this easily

I'll go different on this (sorry guys)

Drop dead start-up-every-day 350rwhp?

Money no object?

Bone stock LS2 + T56 + 4.10 LSD.

Ian, can't really, argue with that too much there. ;)

It's completely true. If you 100% stand by saying that "Price doesn't matter",
It's hard to beat the Out of the Box reliability of a 2JZ.
Already makes well over 300 at the crank. At this power level, will never have to worry about headgaskets, or lack of a well designed oiling system, and with a medium frame ballbearing turbo, it'll spool just as quick as the twins and EASILY make 350rwhp.

IJ dominates, once again. :biglaugh:

Jeff

you mean faster than the stock twins :D:biglaugh:

i would recommend an intercooler upgrade... spearco replica is a good idea with the 7m - at my altitude my car didnt want to go passed 4psi (i never raised the boost on my 7m setup) and once i installed that it gave an easy 8 psi and amazing spool

or a turbo uz :):)

well guys the thought of a 2j swap crossed my mind but never seriously until you guys mentioned it again and I came across these threads-
http://www.supramania.com/forums/showthread.php?t=34525
http://www.supramania.com/forums/showthread.php?t=38286
http://www.supramania.com/forums/showthread.php?t=66984&highlight=cost+2jzgte+swap
with as detailed as these threads are I think I could probably manage this swap if i really set my mind to it.
it seems I could have a 350-400hp daily driver on pump gas and a 500hp weekend track beast for around 10k or less and seemingly reliable. it would also give me a good reason to get the ffi I've wanted.

the only real thing holding me back is the lack of a shop for doing such a project. I have plenty of tools, and access a mill, lathe, welders ect at work, but a very tiny garage in the middle of town with no room on my city lot to add on a larger one. moving is not an option as I've spent lots of time getting this house exactly how I like it. I'm across the street from a large park and 3 blocks from the gradeschool my kids will be going to soon so location is ideal. now if I can just find a small country lot with a shed I'd be in business.

thanks for all the replies guys and im shocked that I recieved this much response
what a great community!
