i think i posted a similar topic like this on SF, but dont want to bump it =X

reading up on some a340e threads (cause im bored in class), and i saw that boost lee put in a tranny cooler and is running somewhere in the ballpark of 362 wtq with a cooler.

anyone want to suggest where a tranny cooler should be mounted, and how much custom bracketing is included? i also have a fluidyne radiator that im putting in as soon as college gets out, so i need to make sure i have enough room for it to fit. best bet is to just go and try it, but hey, i figure others have gone through with it already and could post some advice :biglaugh:

edit: oops, its a B&M cooler, the largest one in the series (im not bragging, i just dont know the number nor have it in front of me).

i believe IJ helped me with this immensely as well, so props to him...i still have all your info saved!

edit again: will putting a tranny cooler in one of the wheelwheels, such as in the following picture, nearly as efficient as putting it in front of the radiator somewhere (where i want it)? i know it wont be as efficient, but if its very close and a lot easier, its obviously a better choice.
(americanjebus' picture, thanks for posting it up on SM!)

I have mine in the same place as the pic in post #1, except the top is angled forwarded vs the bottom to kinda match the angle of the head light. Had to make brackets out of steel flat stock...also removed the stock fog lights and replaced with low profile ones to allow air to the cooler. Spal makes a fan the right size...that is what I'm using right now too. I'm going with the B&M cooler though...it has a temp switch that turns the fan on at 175 deg F. Perfect temp for ATF ;)

good info, thanks =D im not planning on moving around my foglights though, so ill have to browse to see if itll still get a decent amount of air flow over it if i keep them the way they are. ill probably end up getting a fan in the long run, but wont right away.
