I'm actually building a "BL" built auto on my own. Raybestos makes the clutch packs and bands to hold the power, and I made the shims. MV automatics in Australia makes a nice modified valve body. With a couple hundred invested and alot of late nights in the garage, I should have a nice 340 capable of holding 600+whp for not even $500 bux. Can't beat that.

I'm not brainwashed, I just use what's proven in the world of turbocharging JZ motors. I got too much money invested to "experiment". That's fine if someone wants to try them out for a low budget setup.

looking back at this i dont see why you're using other pieces and building your own (experimenting) on your tranny? why be cheap when you have a 1JZ swap? why not go buy the REAL BL tranny thats tried and true and proven in the world of JZ motors instead of putting it together with cheaper parts and making it only 500 bucks?? i thought it was stupid to go cheap to save money instead of dropping major coin on TRUE performance?

Because, I have the list of parts and their vendors used to build them. Putting it together is simply following an instruction manual just like anyone making 9/hr at AMMCO can do from the streets. Powerhouse wants $300??+ bucks for the clutch disks, I got them direct for $120.

You do know that the BL400 and SP400 are just rebranded TCI transmissions right? They order them from the Summit Racing catalog. Call Summit and ask.

im just trying to get an understanding how he can dog someone about not buying expensive ass stuff right off the shelf but yet he does the same thing....putting pieces together to build a trans and making it cheaper is the samething as buying the pieces of a turbo kit and putting it together for cheaper.......am i right?
