I know i have no pics but Im looking for expereiences mainly.

I might be putting eleanor(my Supra) under the knife for some maintinence and need a new DD. I walk by this car every day on my way from my parking spot to school and I just talked to the owner today. Blue(really bad paint, Bumper needs to be rechromed as well lol) 1975 280Z. Its a 4sp and has only 77*** miles on it.

He was considering redoing her and giving it to his 13 year old grandson some day but he may want to sell it.

I only have 500$, in savings bonds(more by the time he wants to sell) and yup.

Anyone have any expereience with the 280's?

Found a man possibly selling a 1975 280Z 4spd with 77k on the clock. Anyone have any experience with them

L28s are awesome IMO.

My best friend had a '79 280zx, which became mine not long ago. She flogged that car like she was in a demo derby. Engine never had a mechanical issue in the 2+ yrs she had it, with well over 140,000 miles on the clock.

After doing an engine swap in a Z31, I'll never own another... That's just how I feel. I wouldn't even take the Z Tanya was talking about if she gave it to me. :icon_conf

My possible buy would make more sense...

Damn tanya you revved the crap outta that thing lol.
I found a '79 280ZX for sale by me the other day and I tried getting my mom to buy it.
She had a 240Z when they first came out.
I built a model of one when I was like 8 and loved the look of them ever since.

Haha yeah, That's the kind of flogging that car takes pretty easily. My best friend had the car for 2 years before me, romping on it constantly, even with a horribly slipping clutch. Then the car sat in the back of my aunt/uncles place for 3 months without being started. Luckily it had a new battery, I went back to it and the car started up without a hitch.

The body will rust to pieces before the engine quits.

After having pulled the VG out of a Z31 and putting it back in a few times, I've gotta say... it's not that bad. What did you have trouble with?
