a plate on the back of the head

theres this plate on the back of the head is this for the coolling system or the EGR. i swear it was for egr but i think i see coolant leaking out of it...

with like 7-8 bolts? that would be the egr cooler cover.

there is the metal pipe that wraps around the block, the union bolt on top at the very back in the middle of the head, a cap, and a hose that have coolant right there tho.

It's usually the heater union bolt directly above it that leaks coolant.

There IS a plug for the coolant passage behind the EGR cooler plate, but I REALLY doubt it's leaking.

so do i just need to get a new copper ring for the banjo bolt? that would be awesome if that was it.

Yup, if it's leaking from around the banjo fitting.
I have see several that leak from the hose there because the fitting is 20 years old, and the surface is corroded.
When I redid my latest engine, I just bought the whole set, fitting, banjo bolt, and seals.

90401-22004 Rear water outlet banjo bolt
90405-17005 or 90405-17006 rear water outlet
90430-22008 rear water outlet banjo gasket (2 req)

Common for the banjo bolt to shear off when you try to undo it

so it turns out that i have a pinhole leak coming out of the hard pipe.... on both sides.... gotta pull the engine back out and replace all the heater hose piping.
