A while ago, when trying to fix a previous owners wiring i tapped the power for my boost gauge's light to the driver side parking lamp. Im adding onto that circuit the following things now aside from the boost gauge, a oil pressure gauge, 5" tach, and some EL Reverse Glow Gauges. I was thinking of connecting all these additional circuits in series to the existing tap from the parking lamp but i fear overloading the circuit and possibly blowing out a fuse if not causing other problems.
Anyone done this befor? Im thinking that if i put too many circuits in series with the parking lamp circuit, i'll either be forcing too much amperage through the fuse wich will lead to me blowing fuses left and right, or maybe overheating a live wire somewhere in the circuit and starting an electrical fire (being worst case).
The above mentioned is the easy way for me to get this done. I've also been thinking about getting a fuse block from discount, or autozone, maybe using the tapped power source from the parking lamp to power a relay that will in turn provide power to the fuse block lighting my gauges... Any idea's?
