Legit?:
My opinion:
I can't answer that. Here's my thoughts, I'd verify the part number, it might go to an MR/2,.. maybe. It looks like to front housing is new, although the exhaust housing looks like it already had a gasket installed on it previously. But it doesn't looked cracked any where on the exhaust housing. He didn't say why he's selling it. (but he could say anything). By eye the wheel looks small. It has rust on the "V" clamp, minor thou. I'd check with Jay marks Toyota on retail price. he dose have a good rating though. I'd purchace "Pay pal protection"

That is a turbo for a 1987 - 1990 2 liter 3S-GTE Celica Turbo AWD.

That is not a turbo for a Supra.

It looks like a legitimate brand new turbo, but it's not the one you are looking for. Toyota sold several different cars with a turbo called a CT-26, and all of the turbos are different. I have no idea why they did this.

anybody notice the dual port WG actuator? or the fact that it has a plug in the nipple that normally comes off of the compressor outlet...

and a "new" turbo wouldnt have a slightly rusted exhaust housing clamp...
seemes like he got a hold of a legitament OEM box, but wheres all the packing? LOL. i know they dont ship them just in a box like that!

save your money and either buy a good used ct-26, or just get your own one rebuilt... for the problems you would more than likely have with that one, it would probably out weigh buying it vs getting yours rebuilt.

Why not?

If he's had it out of the box away from the little "do not eat" bag it could have surface rust as steel will begin to rust in minutes if not protected.

LOL I know what it's called but here I refer to it as the "do not eat bag"

Can't remember the last time I opened something and chowed down on the bag of chemicals in the bottom of the box (gotta wonder why that warning exists but I guess there are some stupid people in the world) :)

The same reason that tubes of Preparation-H have "for external use only" on them. Because you know some idiot put it on crackers once...

Beat me too it, thats where all those humerous (yet serious) placards come from, cause people do it...
