A few questions about using a wideband with the Maft pro

So, ive finally got all my problems fixed, and am now looking at widebands.

I have done some research on them, but i have some questions i cant find the right answer to.

I have the maft pro, and i am wondering if, with the Innovate Lc-1, is it just a gauge and data logger, or can i control the afr? And if i can, do i control it with the wideband its self or the maft pro?

And also, i am a bit confused as to if the lc1 replaces the stock o2 sensor, or do i ad the lc1 o2 sensor to the exhaust?

the maftpro is what you use to control the afr with its correction settings. the LC1 is just a gauge and data logger. and no it donest replace the stock 02 sensor, you need both, as the wideband isnt hooked to the ecu, so you add it to the downpipe.

you COULD use the serial ports on the LC-1 in conjunction with the Maft-pro for afr tracking, however i've read from member on here than have used that setup, that its not very accurate, and corrections happen slow.
I would just use the LC-1 as a gauge and tune with the Maft-pro manually.

okay, but i thought the maft couldnt change it unless there was a wideband in place.

I thought the wideband sent a signal to the maf, (and afr gauge), t so it could then read and change the AFR?

Thats only if you use the afr tracking feature on the maft-pro which i mentioned earlier.
If you dont use this feature the wideband and maft-pro are 2 completly seperate units.

okay, so i CAN use a wideband in conjunction with the maft to control the AFR. Or, ( the more accurate way) i use the wideband as a seperate unit to control the AFR and use the maft for everything else. IS this correct?

If i use them as seperate units, will i be able to control the afr at different rpms, as i can with the maft pro? thanks for the good info!:)

You use the wideband to MONITOR the AFR and the maft pro to CONTROL the AFR. You can control the AFR at different RPMs using the maft pro but basically you will only use the wideband as a gauge to keep an eye on things. You can also hook the wideband up to the maft pro to data log and you would have the option to to use the AFR tracking feature but if I were you I would just get used to learning the in's and out's of the whole system before you start messing with AFR tracking or you may end up doing more damage then it's worth. Step 1: See what your wideband says
Step 2: Adjust fuel on your maft-pro till you're happy with what your wideband says.

Maft-Pro only will do AFR tracking (aka making sure it's at whatever AFR you want) at WOT. Everything else you need to tune/adjust in conjunction with the wideband as reference.

The MAFT Pro unit will allow you to adjust it, however, without a wideband, it's entirely guessing about how much effect it has. You have two choices there, take it to a shop for tuning and they'll plug in their own wideband, or buy your own and mount it permanently in the car.
