Little winded story but im board at work today... :) so only read if you are board too.. (this may make you worse)

A guy I know has had a small repair shop for over 20 years, I was visiting his shop at lunch today to see if there were any cool cars there (there was not :( till I got there in my borrowed 89 stock supra!! ) But I did get to have a little fun, While I was there BS'ing with him his NAPA rep pulled up. She had someone with her. It was a BOSCH rep and he was there to shmoose the shop owner and see what bosch stuff he used.

The first thing the BOSCH guy starts asking about it spark plugs.. The shop owner (my friend) sad "I would not put BOSCH plugs in my mother-in-laws car and I hate that b*tch! The rest of the talk was actually not bad. The bosch guy had a decent come back. "Ok so what do we have that you would use in her car??" Anyway it was fun watching, He did tell the guy that he thinks NGK's are the best out there so far. The BOSCH guy did give him some pens mouse pads for all the computers and some other give away sh*t.. The NAPA rep wanted to give him some FREE bosch plugs but he said no. The mouse pads were fine, (after they left he tossed the mouse pads haha) said next time the NAPA rep shows up he is going to tell her the mouse pads broke his mouse. He has had bad luck with bosch..

omg bosch platinum plugs.

I work at my dad's shop apprenticing and last year canadain tire had their winter special going on around September. Full tune up, OFG, etc etc. Of course they put bosch platinum plugs in all the vehicles. Well come late November, early December we had at least 2 cars a day complaining about getting random misfires, hesitations etc. Most of the vehicles were GM's and Dodge.

In the end in ~2 weeks we did about 25-30 vehicles's spark plugs, all curing the problem. We toyed with the idea of sending canadian tire christmas cards for all the business.

Basically that is now one of the top things we ask customers when they come in complaining about their car running weird after a tune up. I am not sure what is wrong with these plugs or why they seem to specifically hate GM vehicles (in my experience at least) but they are on my hate list as well.
