you know what. I have access to a JZGE engine and I think I will stop screwing around with the 7mge in my Cressida and stick on of these. Does the 2jzge use the same auto tranny like the 7ms and cressidas? I should be able to run this engine with the cressidas electronics.
I know it will fit because my friend has a 2jzte in his Cressida

Any ideas guys?

yeah and if you are going to swap a 2j why would it be a GE it would have nothing over the 7m except the name, GTE or nothin....

I believe the GE's are actually the same as a 7m seeing as they used W58 tranny's..... you can use a R154 tranny with a GTE you just need the 1j bellhousing, for they are the same.

a clean 2jz-gte swap said and done with a 5 speed r154 can be done for 5000$ maybe less.... if you want the 6-speed you can plan on 3-4k more, i just saw one sell on ebay for 6k

Wow dude - you should do some more research. The GE and the GTE 2j blocks are practically identical.

Cheap for a GE then you will HAVE to turbo it or settle with minimal power which costs money then you will realize the ge head does not flow as well and by the time you do that you figure out it would have been cheaper to go 1j or 2jzgte

You've already said this all once, and it's gone around and around.

Seems like you're just trying to stir the pot, now.

Be interesting to see how much that goes for, though. Completed auctions in the last 30 days only shows 1 2JZ-GE that sold -

$1429 with tranny.

3 others that didn't sell, for anywhere from $600-$750 shipped, with no bids.

you got that right.

throw the 7M-GTE CPS in there, run it off the 7M electronics...

been thinking about this for a while now...i might start another project soon down the road.

yeah especially getting it to run right. cheap and easy huh. :nono:

the 7m CPS fits right into the 2jz head with MINIMAL modification.

everything else just takes a little imagination. 2 knock sensors, use the 7m coil packs, 7m ecu and everything else.

it IS easy :)

get something like the MAFT pro and a wide band and youre set.

as for the turbo(s) you can pick up a set of stock twins for a reasonable price.

i think the hardest part of the swap would be the actual wiring, unless you were to run it off of the 7mgte harness. if something is not tried and proven, then you guys dont believe in it. you shoot down anything that is not in the norm of supra tuning, like the supercharger and now with the 2JZ-GE-T. sure tuning is expensive on a 2j, its also expensive on a 7m. if you are pushing 500+HP, you need a good tune and it will cost the same..regardless of platform. look, p5150 has a good idea and might be on to something here, why dont we back him up and see how it does before we shoot him down. im mean jesus, he isnt forcing you to do it on your motor.
p5150, i got your back. good luck and if you need anything, i might be able to help. dont be afraid to PM.
