Whats a rear upper seat belt mount? I only have the belt that goes over the stomach in the rear.

Wouldn't the C-Pillar be the most rearward pillar. Starting with the ones by the windsheild being called A-Pillars, the ones by your drivers seat would be B-Pillars, then the ones by the hatch would be C-Pillars. At least thats the way I understand it.

The language in the discription is very ambiguous. Personally I would just go with either a race harness bar behind the front seats or something like a Do-Luck floor brace like they make for a MKIV(I don't know if they make it for the MKIII)

89+ cars have 3-point shoulder belts in the rear seats that attach @ the c-pillar. I believe the holes are there in all year models, just not in the trim panels. I can confirm ths on my 87 when I get to the house.

I have a 1991 JZA70 Supra and my rear seats do not have shoulder belts. I am assuming that the C-Pillar will not work in my car? Anyone have closeup pictures on where exactly it is mounted?

If you don't have the 3 pt seatbelts in the rear seats, I'm guessing you will have to remove the c pillar and find the pre-threaded holes, then cut as needed.

Yes I think in pre89s the holes are there but are not used. So you have to cut holes in the trim to access it.

My 91T had HORRIBLE targa shimmy. I tried the c pillar bar and it helped "a little". It, unfortunately, was not a magic cure.

The rear strut bar is a bit beefier and would help targa shiimmy more then the c pillar.

Warning. This bar will be right behind the head of rear passengers. I would not suggest having the bar in with rear passengers. There is a high chance of injury in an accident. You can easily unbolt it at the ends.

Like they'd be in good shape after getting into an accident while sitting in the back of a supra...

It's almost as bad as being in an old VW bug...

hahah. Very true.

Thats cool. I hadn't thought of that bar before. I never removed the plastic there but I know what you mean about pre-threaded holes. My 91 Tercel had the 2 belt set up (one connected to the door to the center console and 1 that went across your lap, like optional lol) but behind the plastic had a spot and threaded holes for a normal 3 point seat belt.

Is 50 bucks a good price for that bar?

I say it is if you have a targa or if you just want to stiffen the chassis a bit although I don't think it will reduce flex by much I think it's worth it if you just have the cash laying around for it.

i'll probably pick it up then. I have a hardtop myself but I guess it would go good with my front/rear strut tower bars and the harness bar I want to get :)

It's gonna look siiiiiiick!
