ok, this is from last month, just after we had gotten some nice snow that turned to ice....

I was rolling down 12 on my way home from work i pass a slow moving Ford GT...i get up to the stop light, and he pulls up next to me and he revs a little bit, i look over at him and nod, laughing because i know on the ice we are both going to suck hard core...

well the light turned green, he gave it to much gas, spun his tires while i just very slowly rolled into it, by time i was up to 60 i had at least 1/8th of a mile on him simply because he couldn't get any power to the ground...even if it was on ice, i was happy i beat a GT

about a week later on dry roads he wanted to play again and spanked me like i really deserved LOL

racing on ice = dumb IMO

EDIT: I bet the guy in the GT wasn't happy that he couldn't move... and I wonder what he was doing out on an icy day anyways with a 1/4 of a million dollar car...

we deal with ice all the time here, nothing odd for it to start out the day bright and sunny and no snow for a week or 2, then get an unpredicted storm off of lake michigan...

as for racing on ice, doing it on 4 wheels is safe, if you aren't stupid while doing it, doing it on a flat track with 20 others on a motorcycle with 1 1/4" spikes in your wheels = just frickin insane

on ice you have to be much more careful about whats in front of you (this case straight road and no traffic for more then 1/4 of a mile) and what the winds are doing, i have been slid on ice on my way to work from one lane to another in my supra...not a fun experence....that day was nice and calm and very little traffic and nice straight shot...no big deal....now what was he doing with that car out in febuary? if only i knew lol

I raced my buddy in a dodge dynasy in the rain. He pulled up next to me and nodded, and i smiled back. The light changed i knowinly dumped the clutch @ 5k or so and spun them like no tomorrow. The car behind was prolly mad. My friend he hauled off and left my ass sittin, the funniest part about he had rodnock like a mofo, and he walked allover me. Great laugh. I prolly hit 45 in 3rd and shut it down. For weeks he said he smoked the supra. Better watch out for them dodges with knock they will getcha

racing in any other conditions besides dry weather is just plain dumb. sorry, but it's not worth losing your car for a stupid race... i'd rather let some grandma in a riced out civic beat me than race in the rain/snow/ice. etc...
