89+ turnsignal & Grille conversion need help

ok so my car has a 89+ front bumper but i always ran pre89 turnsignals and no grill.
pretty much cause ther a bitch to find around here and when you do there expensive.
well the other day at pick a part i ran across a 91 turbo and started grabbing everything i could get my hands on, grilles and turnsignals included.
so heres my problem, the pre 89 header panel has brackets that prevent the new ones from goin in. im sure ive seen it done before but idk what has to be done first.
can some body chime in?

Replace the header panel metal support off the 89+, and everything is bolt-on...


Or you can keep the pre 89 header panel, cut the grilles, and run pre-89 euros and look baller like me..
