Ok so for my 90 NA to Turbo swap I aquired what I thought was a 90+ engine harness and dropped the GTE in. The harness plugs right into the ECU. The issue I am having is that the car has two 10 pin plugs, one large one small, that were on the NA harness that are not present on the Turbo harness. This is leading me to believe that I actually have a 89 or earlier harness rather than a 90+ harness. Anyone have any input? The car harness pligs into eveything else, it is just those two plugs that are not present.

the 89 harness is a weird year. It can even make a difference in what month of 89 your car is. If one of the extra plugs is a white long plug with two rows of pin holes it is for the air bag.
I think the 90 has different size plugs for the ones you are talking about so you can not use the 89 year harness. It may be because in 90 the air bag became standard equip.
I tried to use a 90 harness and two plugs would not fit and the 89 had no plug for the air bag.
I plan on keeping my car a long time so i went and bought a new 90 T 5 speed harness. It was what $400 plus but a new harness is awesome. The wiring and plastic tubing is flexible and will not give me any shorting issues hopefully.
The best route in the long run is calling jeff at champion and getting a new one. i do think the 90 and 91 years are the same the 92 may be too. I think the 89 harness is year all to itself with no substitutes.

I figured it out- the small plug on the turbo engine harness doesnt match the big plug on the chassis harness. Looking at the N/A harness it was easy to see that it was just the plug size/style that is different, so I can swap the small plug from the NA harness on and it will work fine-
how will you know if each wire you swap goes to the same devices or inputs or outputs?
The wiring may not be arranged the same way when they switched plugs. The wires i am sure are different color codes which means they may do different things and it is a risk just to switch plugs without knowing the wiring will perform the same functions.
