Well, I am not sure if this has been posted.. if it has excuse my ignorance. Well I just got my '92 Supra, and well the engine wiring harness was missing a few connectors, so I got another harness auto one, that was decent condition and took those off and made it very nice again, well i plugged everything into the ecu and that was fine, but when i tried connecting the plugs into the dash like 2 fit? I am thinking this is a 92 harness right, came to find out... that it was not, it didn't fit, so it couldn't be right, i been looking around for one but still can't find one, the harness I got and cut the connectors off those plugs fit and surly enough it was out of a '91 auto supra turbo.. so 89-90 are different then 91 92 harnesses at least to plug into the dash..

So yeah I was pretty disappointed of course.. but hey you learn.,

there are early and late 89 harnesses. the 90 harness is different from 89 and 91+ and the 91,92 are the same. of course auto vs manual and turbo vs n/a are different. the 90 would have a white air bag plug the 89 doesnt and one dash plug is different. i have not compared my 90 to a 91 harness. i bought a very good 89 harness and one plug would not fit my 90 plus the 89 did not have the long rectangle white air bag plug.

If you plan on keeping the car a new harness is a great investment.

Yeah i ran into the same exact problem, when i wante to replace my 1989 harness from one that i believe was from a 90 or 91 supra, but to my surprise the dash connectores were different. So what i did is that since the wire colors were the same on both wiring harnesses I made 1 good wiring harness out of both, and it did work, now i have a good harness.

Theres suppose to be like 24 different harnesses for 1989+

You know I did try making one good one but the problem was I had a 89 manual harness with a 91 auto harness and a LOT of wires were not there that were required, I bet I could do it, but I am just going to buy a new one I think.

That's what I did and I couldn't be happier, nothing like plugging in new clips that aren't brittle, fit, and clean as ever!
