88 GT Limited info

[Simon's 88 GT Limited]

Hi all, I was wondering if anyone could help me with the history of the GT Limited model, i do not know much about them but that they were the top of the range model back then, and over here in australia they are very rare to find.

So if anyone has any info like, how many were made, the differences in the models, etc anything at all would be great.

This is what my supra has in it, 7m-gte, auto with POWER and MANU button, Lsd, TEMS, removable roof, leather everything, power drivers seat, cruise control, P/S, P/W, P/Mirrors also fold in, digital dash, floor mats with the word supra in them in gold, ABS, six speaker sound system,yellow fog lights, i think thats it:icon_bigg

So if there is anything wierd in that listing plz tell.

i think you are talking about the Turbo A/Group A supra. it has the 89+ wing and they only came in black with black sawblades. there were 500 made in Japan or overseas, never came to USA. they dont have an AFM, they have a map sensor and a bigger throttle body and a bigger pipe above the valve covers and i think the turbo is a little bit better.
do a search for turbo a.
if you go to www.supraforums.com and register and search for turbo a there will be a lot of information too.

nothing too special about either, it's just added designation for certain target markets....AFAIK limited seems to always equal auto + digidash. GT = turbo?

Ok kool i didnt know that about the Turbo A, but the info they tell you on Grand torismo. lol.
But i need more info on the GT Limited, ill have a look at these sites.

so wait this is off topic but the turbo a didnt have a afm? so does that mean it didnt have fuel cut? is there anyway to replicate those sensor cheaply?

AFM no.

FCO yes.

replicate- buy a MAFT pro, VPC or MAP ECU.

Well i got told that there were 300 of GT Limiteds brought over here to australia,
and this is one of them back in 1988/89. and with the 12yr rule over here they are now starting to ship over alot more of the GT Limiteds and Turbo As for around your $7000 - $12000.ozy dollars. Turbo A i mite have to get.:evil2:

My GT Limited has no import papers, plates, etc. nothing at all, just like your normal car. I think.

Yes i guess, but the GT Limited was meant to be the model that had everything, more added extras then any other model, in its original state.
So what are the differences in the GT LImited models over in USA, Japan, etc, then what ive described.
