After replacing a crusty coffee ground tank, sender, fuel pump and lines i still have a no start ..hear the hiss? or fule on the pump test...spark at #1 when turned over.power at injectors but haven't checked for pulse yet.Anything obvious i should check first?..power to the brown wire at injector resistor..haven't tested it yet..it was a used replacement since mine was missing.

If the fuel system was that bad you may have some injector problems.

If cold start injector is not working car will be hard to start even if the 6 injectors are spraying ok. You can test the CSI by removing the 3000 pipe and power fuel pump , FP to B+. Make a jumper harness to supply 12v and ground to CSI. Use a fused power wire and then tap the ground wire and watch for spray from injector. You have to hold open throttle plate to see. Page FI 79 of the TSRM shows the factory SST. But you can make one with two small female connectors and 2 pieces of wire. I would leave injector in car. I bet the paper gasket will split if removed. IF you hear it click and no spray try cleaning it with carb clean and brush. While pump is powered up you can crack open supply line to see if fuel comes out.

Still would not hurt to check for codes.

Good luck.

K..will keep that in mind...won't start at these temps if the injector isn't working?...i see where some guys are putting ether in the pipe but i would think thats a last option and i wouldn't recommend ether in any gas engine.

Yup....went nylon to the back for vent, fuel and return...just 100 times easier to work with compared to steel !..also changed to a gm/ford style filter with quick connects at the filter..also way easier than the banjo setup.I re-used the m14 female nut from the old rear rubber line and "hot" swaged it to nylon...works great.....Finally got the old alpine alarm out but looks like they may have turfed the oe module though...checked resistance at inj resistor, charging battery, cleaned the ecu ground on the intake.Haven't checked cold start yet and injector pulse ...wish me luck!

It's ALIVE!....combination of double checking all grounds, cds fuse in front fuse box, replaced ign 7.5 a fuse in kick panel(didn't look burnt) and new battery.Did the ecu just reset itself with the new battery?

If the engine was cold and the power was disconnected for more than a minute, the ecu most likely did reset. It'll run better after the first few minutes of operation.
