car will fire up and run, but it is only firing on 3 cylinders 1 4 and 6
for some reason 2 3 and 5 are dead, I am getting spark at them all, and have changed the plugs and wires to no avail, I have wiggled the cps wires and replaced the injectors but I am having no luck

I am getting a code 12 but I am unsure of what to do at this point, any help would be GREATLY appreciated

thanks in advance
Rich

So are you getting spark at the end of the wires? Did you check the coil pack, do like 87targa said check your compression.

not sure why I would have lost compresion, it was running fine before it was left parked for a while, but I will try to track down a gauge
also I have checked that I am getting spark at the end of the wires and the coil packs have been swapped with a known good one

I know you said you put new plugs in but, it might be worth tring another set. I have seen brand new plugs out of the box that wouldn't fire. Note that these were cheap autolights but they were still new plugs. Are you getting fuel would be my next question.

after changing them the first time I have tried swapping plugs from dead holes to good holes, with no change, is there any way I can get fuel to only 3 holes after replasing the injectors?? same holes again also
like am I missing something in the fuel rail that would block 3 injectors or something, I looked at it pretty close, but I don't know

What about the injector clips did you check them test them to see if they are getting fire. Sounds like it might be more to do with fuel then spark.

cool, thats a good one, how do I go about that, can I just check them with a multi meter or a test light? that is a great thought, thanks

ok so I have no clue what to do with the diagram you linked to :aigo:
but I put a meter on the injector clips one at a time and have found that I am not getting a pulse to the 3 offending holes, 2,3, and 5, from that diagram you sent it looks like that is one injector from no30 and both from no20
anymore ideas you can offer???
your help is greatly appreciated today, thanks ALOT!

Simple logic implies that since 2 is paired with 6 and 6 is working you either have a bad injector or bad wiring. Since 3 and 5 are paired and neither are working you either have two bad injectors, bad wiring, a bad resistor pack, or a blown driver in the ECU for that pair. I'd start with the pack.

This post will not help you at all, but I was wondering if you could make a sound clip or a small video clip of the car running. My buddies ae86 was running on 3 cylinders and that thing sounded like a crazy subaru. I can only imagine what a 7m would sound like. T_T

thanks to all who helped, it is fixed now, after 4 years of not running it turned out to be a bad connection at the ecm behind the glovebox, sorry I never made a sound clip :(
but thanks especially to supramk3man for all the help earlier today, wouldn't have stuck with it today if not for the fast responses
thanks guys
