Anyone know if the coolant channel the thermostat housing bolts onto is compatible through the MK3 model years (86.5 to 88 versus 89+) ?

The coolant sensors are different I do know that, but can I use a 91 coolant channel on my 87 ?

Any ideas?

Thanks

I believe the sensors are similar, but with different plugs, everything else should be the same.

I noticed the coolant sensors are different from pre-89 and 89+, so the threads must be different too?

There can be up to 4 different varieties then:

Turbo 86.5 to 88
Non Turbo 86.5 to 88
Turbo 89+
Non Turbo 89+

I am going to call Champion Toyota and find out

the sensors are the same, the connector are different
The computer send voltage to the sensor and the temp of the coolant determines the resistance in the sensor then the computer determines what the temp is based on the resistance. Long story short they are all the same.

i used a sensor and connector from a 99 camery.
